Serial production of compact premium electric vehicles BMW i3 started back in 2013. Since then, the Germans have collected 250 thousand copies of the model, which was sold in 74 countries around the world. However, as in the case of the Nissan Leaf, it is time for the old-timer to give way to ambitious newcomers.
The German automaker decided to celebrate this event with two special versions of the electric car at once. First up was the BMW i3s HomeRun Edition, sporting the stylish Frozen matt finish from BMW Individual for the first time. A total of 10 special editions were released, five of which were in Frozen Dark Gray and five in Frozen Dark Red II.
And the other day, the Germans presented to the public at once 18 golden BMW i3s in Galvanic Gold color. These are the last pieces to come off the manufacturer’s assembly lines, and they were immediately sent to customers who received a real exclusive.
Recall that in the coming years, the BMW i3 electric car will be replaced by a new compact electric crossover BMW iX1 .
