Xiaomi has introduced a new flagship of the Redmi sub-brand, which is expected to fall into the K50 series. New – Redmi K50 Extreme Edition (previously, representatives of this series were transformed into Ultra). The device can be described as follows: an affordable Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 variant with a [sort of] 2K screen and 120W charging in a Xiaomi 12-inspired design. Xiaomi also focuses on the 108MP Samsung HM6 main camera with optical image stabilization, which sets the tone for a triple main module, the presence of a chip of its own production Surge P to control the charging process, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio.

Continuing the theme of the camera, the same Samsung HM6 module (previously found in Realme 9 4G, but without an opto-stub) is supplemented with an 8-megapixel wide and a 2-megapixel macro cover. The same 20-megapixel camera is responsible for selfies as in Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 – Sony IMX596. There is no video recording in 8K format, as well as the responsibility of Leica specialists, but CyberFocus technology from Xiaomi 12 is implemented. Noteworthy is the use of a system of six lenses on a 108-megapixel lens, where one is glass, the rest are plastic.

Xiaomi Redmi K50 Extreme Edition is available in China in three colors (black, gray and blue) + a special edition in the Mercedez-AMG collaboration . There are four configurations depending on the amount of internal memory, and the minimum price, 8/128 GB, was 2999 yuan, which makes the gadget one of the most affordable offers on the market with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Redmi K50 Extreme Edition is unlikely to be released outside of China , but the company can transform it into a representative of some other series for the global market. Watching!
