“Ukrposhta” continues to actively develop the philatelic direction and is already preparing to issue the next (already sixth) stamp of martial law, dedicated to the mine-clearing dog Patron The Ukrainian explosives sniffer dog, the Jack Russell Terrier, the mascot of the Emergency Situations Service of Ukraine, which gained great popularity during the Russian-Ukrainian war and in a short time became a symbol of the invincibility of the Ukrainian people in the fight against the Russian occupiers — it will go on sale tomorrow . The details were told by the CEO of the national postal operator Igor Smilyansky on his pages in Telegram and Facebook.
Updated [14:19]: The launch of the brand was postponed to September 1 – Knowledge Day.
The stamp talks about how sappers, along with Patron, help save the lives of children and farmers and ensure the passage of ships, but its main feature is different – this is the country’s first official charitable stamp.
Ukrposhta plans to raise more than 1 million euros for a demining vehicle that will help emergency workers clear large areas.
“More than 150,000 — this is the number of explosive objects found in Ukraine according to the State Emergency Service, so Patron needs help from both technical means and four-legged assistants. That is why the rest of the donations will go to support animal shelters across the country.”
Igor Smelyansky,
CEO of Ukrposhta
As always, there will be themed merchandise — at the start, at least, you will be able to buy a cup and a sports sweater with images of the national favorite Patron.
