“Dog Patron” – briefly about the brand
This postal issue of Ukrposhta is dedicated to the heroes-rescuers who, together with their four-legged helpers, carry out demining of the liberated territories: cities, villages, fields, forests, beaches. It was implemented in partnership with the State Emergency Service.
The illustrations for the postage issue “Dog Patron” were drawn by illustrator Alexander Nikityuk, a participant in the competition for the design of the postage stamp “Good evening, we are from Ukraine!” . The stamp sheet contains 8 different postage stamps depicting Patron’s dog, in particular, on a field cultivated by Ukrainian farmers in spite of the danger, in a residential area where residents must return after the UAF liberated the city from invaders, on a playground, because Statistics show that it is children who suffer the most from mines.
“I have been drawing all my life anywhere: at a school desk in Varash (Rivne region), in a barracks (Poltava and Kyiv), in a student hostel (OGPU and ONU named after I. I. Mechnikov), I have always painted. When the war started, I realized that drawing is an excellent therapy that helps to distract, direct your energy to create something new.
Work on the list of stamps was carried out for almost a month, it was an interesting and urgent task”,
Alexander Nikityuk,
designer-illustrator
