Sony has prepared for the release of a new smartphone Xperia 5 IV. The novelty is a more compact, less functional and more affordable version of the Xperia 1 IV. At the same time, the device received an advanced camera system – almost like a flagship.
On the rear panel is a triple camera based on 12-megapixel sensors. Sony specifically uses sensors with a low (by today’s standards) resolution to provide high readout speed and high sensitivity in low light. The lens of the main module has a focal length of 24 mm, the ultra-wide module is 16 mm and the telephoto module is 60 mm. But unlike the Xperia 1 IV, the telephoto module does not support the ability to smoothly switch between focal lengths. All three cameras are capable of recording 4K/120p video and capturing photos at 20fps with autofocus, autoexposure and HDR enabled. The front camera also received a 12-megapixel sensor.
The Sony Xperia 5 IV features a 6.1-inch 1080p OLED display (21:9 aspect ratio) with a 120Hz refresh rate. Users are offered a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal flash memory. Additionally, a slot for a microSD memory card is available. The device contains a 5000 mAh battery, headphone jack, stereo speakers. Declared support for wireless charging and protection IP65 / 68.
The new Sony Xperia 5 IV smartphone will go on sale from October 27 for $999.
