A post on the blog of the social network Twitter shows a screenshot of the modified tweet. The company launched a test of the post editing mode after it was published. The future testing of the mode was announced back in April.
“The screenshot below looks like an edited tweet. Because that’s what it is, and you’ll be able to see more of them soon.”
In test mode, tweets can be edited multiple times within 30 minutes of being posted. After editing, a special icon and the time of editing will appear at the bottom. Clicking on a label will show the edit history.
Initially, a limited group of users will be allowed to test the feature. Later this month, this option will be available to Early Access subscribers in one of the countries. Then the geographical coverage of the test will expand.
“We’ll also be paying close attention to how this feature impacts how people read, write, and interact with tweets.”
No release date for editing for everyone has been announced on Twitter, but they promise to share more news soon. It is not known how the final mode will differ from the test one.
