There have already been several reports of a possible AirPods Pro 2 release this year, but this is the first confirmation from a reliable source that it will premiere alongside the iPhone 14 during the Far Out event on September 7th.

According to preliminary data, AirPods Pro 2 will receive significantly better specifications, including the next generation of the Apple H1 processor, and new functionality. The new model will be able to offer higher quality audio by supporting Apple’s lossless audio codec ( ALAC ), which bypasses the Bluetooth connection entirely, or by adding support for Bluetooth 5.2, which uses the LC3 codec for more efficient audio transmission.
