In contrast to the extremely expensive Mate 50 RS , Huawei presented the Mate 50E. Externally and in size, it is indistinguishable from the base Mate 50, and in terms of filling, the devices have a lot in common: screen, battery, and wired charging power. The key difference was the chipset: instead of Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 4G, Snapdragon 778G 4G is installed here. The second important difference is the disappeared periscope, but there is also a spoonful of honey – the main 50-megapixel module has acquired OIS stabilization and even retained a variable f/1.4-4.0 aperture.
The water protection of the case and wireless charging have disappeared, but stereo speakers, NFC and high-speed USB 3.1 Gen 1 protocol have been preserved. The price tag, of course, has also become more modest: 3999 and 4499 yuan for versions with 128 and 256 GB of storage. Sales of Huawei Mate 50E in China will start in October. There are gray, black and purple colors to choose from.
