The Huawei Mate 50 flagships introduced last week are based on the 4G version of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, and therefore cannot boast of high-speed connectivity to fifth-generation networks. However, the company has an ace up its sleeve: Chinese sources confirm a recent rumor about a special case that will allow the smartphone to work with 5G networks. The argument is a live photo of the cover, on the back of which the “5G” logo flaunts. As in the case of a similar cover for Huawei P50 Pro, it will connect to the USB-C port of the smartphone, significantly increasing its weight – approximately by 50 g. It is expected that three of the four models in the series will receive a 5G cover: and Mate 50RS . The launch is expected in October.
