Canalys researchers have released a supplement to the report for the second quarter of 2022 (April-June). It reveals the top ten best-selling smartphone models in the US. Apple confidently holds the first five positions: the base iPhone 13 is the undisputed leader with more than a two-fold lead. The second line was taken by the inexpensive iPhone SE (2022), and the iPhone 13 Pro Max closes the top three. The iPhone 13 Pro is almost on a par with it, and the fifth was the iPhone 12, which has fallen considerably in price in a year and a half.
And although the top-end Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra for $1200 only took 6th place in the ranking, this is an outstanding result for the Android segment, since extremely budget models usually lead in it. Speaking of them: the seventh and eighth positions went to Moto G Power (2022) and Galaxy A13 with a minimum margin, the ninth was the outsider iPhone 13 mini, and another Korean flagship, the base Galaxy S22, concludes the top 10. But the foldable Galaxy Z models that Samsung is so hard touting in opposition to the iPhone 14 did not even come close to the top ten.
