Nothing, the London-based tech company created by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, is gearing up to release its next pair of headphones after last year’s Ear 1.
In a series of images published by the company, however, only the new headphone charging case is visible – it has a cylindrical shape and resembles a tube of lipstick.

However, US public relations manager Lewis Hopkins writes that the headphones themselves have been completely updated, which we can’t see yet.
They started talking about the release of a new Ear Stick model at the beginning of this year on the eve of the presentation of the Nothing Phone 1 smartphone . According to rumors, the new product was supposed to have a lot in common with the design of Ear 1 – with the exception of silicone inserts. There were speculations that they would be announced along with the debut Nothing smartphone – however, not a word was said about them during the launch of Phone 1.
In a press release, Nothing promises that the headphones will be “light as a feather” with an extremely comfortable ergonomic design that adapts to the ears. The company also boasts a “unique” charging case inspired by “classic cosmetic shapes” and comfortable enough to simply carry in your pocket.
According to Carl Pei, his motivation for launching Nothing was the consumer technology industry, which “felt outdated, unimaginative, and inundated with gadgets that feel very much the same.” Therefore, the manufacturer, every time, strives to surprise with the original design of the product.
Nothing’s first product, the Ear 1 Wireless, also featured a custom charging case with a clear cover and went on sale in August 2021 for $99. The product was presented in white and black colors, equipped with Bluetooth and ANC, as well as 11.6 mm speakers. Among the pluses of the model are active noise cancellation, wireless charging, IPX4 water resistance. For headphones with similar parameters, Nothing’s competitors ask from $150 to $300.
Regarding the cost, appearance and functions of the new Ear Stick model, no information has been published yet. It is known that the headphones should be released at the end of 2022.
