Intel has introduced a software tool designed to make it easier to connect your phone and PC to share files, notifications, messages, and calls. Intel Unison will be supported on 13th gen devices and select laptops with 12th gen Intel Evo processors, although it currently only works on devices that have yet to be released.
Importantly, Unison supports both Android and iOS, something that other Windows collaboration solutions like Microsoft Phone Link (aka Your Phone) didn’t have before. Unison is based on technology from Screenovate, a software company acquired by Intel last year.
The Intel Unison will connect to your Android/iOS smartphone via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and will work slightly differently depending on the type of phone. Some features will not be supported on iPhone, such as multiparty messaging. External control of notifications on Android and iOS devices depends on the behavior of specific applications. Intel Unison will be available on existing PCs from Lenovo, Acer, and HP this fall, and on Intel’s 13th generation platform early next year.
Last year, Intel acquired Screenovate, the prototype maker of the canceled Dell Mobile Connect software platform . In 2022, Intel demonstrated developments in synchronizing PCs with Android and iPhone, and integration of the program with Intel Evo was also expected. Probably Intel Unison is the result of these efforts.
