Having found itself the market leader in foldable smartphones in China (with a 52% share), Huawei decided to build on its success by preparing a more affordable solution. So, in China, the premiere of Huawei Pocket S took place, which became a simplified version of the P50 Pocket. Moreover, we are dealing with a rare case when simplifications were rather beneficial. See for yourself: in addition to the unnecessary prefix “P50”, the heir parted with a useless 32-megapixel monochrome camera, as well as with an expensive, hot and voracious Snapdragon 888 chip. Instead, they installed a mid-budget Snapdragon 778G 4G, which, in theory, will also please with economical consumption battery, which, by the way, remained the same – 4000 mAh with 40-W charging.
Otherwise, it’s still the same P50 Pocket: 6.9″ main OLED screen (120 Hz, 1440 Hz PWM), 1″ external, 40-megapixel main camera and 13-megapixel wide and a fingerprint scanner on the end. The same, not counting the price: simplifications made it possible to significantly reduce the price tags, because instead of 9000 yuan, the new product starts from 5988 (50,640 rubles) for the 8/128 GB version. 8/256 and 8/512 GB variants are also available for 6488 and 7488 yuan, respectively. Sales of models for 128 and 256 GB of memory will start on November 10, and the 512-GB version will have to wait until December.
Also brought in some colors. Many: black, silver, beige, blue, green and pink. Also on sale will be special accessories-handbags for carrying, matching the colors of the smartphone.
