To date, Sony’s crowning creation in terms of mobile cameras is the 1″ IMX989 sensor, which has already shown its power in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and is soon planned to be installed in the vast majority of flagships in 2023. However, the Japanese are already planning to make a new word in mobile photography by launching a new brand mobile sensors under the name LYTIA, according to a new video published on the official Sony YouTube channel.
In it, the company asks the question of how we perceive the world: through color, light, shadow and moments. And we want to be able to capture any of these aspects. Through the years of developing digital cameras, Sony has helped us express our individuality and unleash our creativity. It’s time for a new stage. According to Sony itself, LYTIA is a crystallization of technology and the company’s passion for filming.
The upcoming LYTIA image sensors are designed to enable smartphone users to express their emotions more freely, as well as bring creative experiences beyond imagination. Sony does not go into details of specific solutions yet, naming only the main chips, among which there will be naturalistic HDR shooting and high-speed, accurate full-matrix autofocus. But while these are all words, we are waiting for the first new items!
