Russian elites no longer believe in “strong Putin”.
The escape of the Russian invaders from Kherson became a stumbling block. It opened the way to the return of Crimea and the collapse of the Russian Federation. The elites of the Russian Federation no longer believe in the strong Putin.
Political scientist Mykola Davidyuk told about this on the air of the national telethon. The presenter asked questions about the return of Crimea and the further collapse of Russia. The expert answered this: “I think Kherson became a stumbling block. Here Kherson started the process of the return of Crimea and the collapse of the Russian Federation. The elites no longer believe in the strong Putin. The only regional center that he was able to conquer, Ukraine easily returned.”
According to Davydyuk, the liberation of Kherson also has great symbolic significance. Putin claimed that territories illegally included in the Russian Federation as a result of so-called referendums will be protected by all means. There were even direct hints of using nuclear weapons. However, the Armed Forces entered the city and are now engaged in the liberation of the region.
History will repeat itself with Crimea. Davydyuk is convinced that threats will not lead to anything again. According to a political scientist, Putin is a “cabinet rat” and he knows how to lose. The President of the Russian Federation started the war with a “bunch of toys”, and now there is no “Nordic Stream”, no Crimean Bridge, no Kherson.
“Actually, the Soviet Union, already being a nuclear power, lost and disintegrated. And Russia, which is ten times weaker than the Soviet Union, just ten times: rampant corruption, zero technical potential and an army that simply slept, with dumb generals. Here is the recipe for modern Russia […] Therefore, I do not believe that Russia will be able to preserve itself in the form it is today, and Kherson was the beginning of this – it is 100%”, Davidyuk concluded.
