According to Lukashenka, many people think that in the event of the defeat of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the CSTO will cease to exist.

The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Oleksandr Lukashenko, said that the mass media are spreading the idea that if Russia loses the war in Ukraine, the CSTO will cease to exist.
As the Belarusian agency “BELTA” reports, he made such a statement during the plenary session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Armenia, at which Belarus assumed the chairmanship of the organization.
“You know, recently in the mass media (the opinion is spreading that – ed.) – the life and fate of the CSTO depend on the “operation” of the Russian Federation in Ukraine (the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine – ed.). If Russia wins, the CSTO will live, if , God forbid, he will not win – the CSTO will not exist. And in our countries, too, many hot heads began to discuss this problem. I feel that we have reached a consensus that if, God forbid, Russia collapses, then our place will be under these ruins “, Lukashenko noted.
According to him, there should not be such conversations. He emphasized that “the CSTO will exist, and no one will fall anywhere.”
What is happening in the CSTO
On November 23, 2022, the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, refused to sign the draft declaration of the CSTO Collective Security Council and the draft on joint measures to provide assistance to Armenia. According to him, the draft of the CSTO CSTO declaration submitted for signing is “insufficiently refined”.
In October, the Kyrgyz government decided to cancel CSTO training on its territory. There was no reason for such a decision.
In addition, after the announcement of mobilization in Russia, Vladimir Putin began to lose allies more actively. In particular, three countries that are or were members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization opposed the participation of their citizens in the war in Ukraine.
