A powerful explosion occurred a few meters from the patrolmen.
Inspectors of the TOR patrol police battalion were among the first to be at the scene of the explosion during the Russian missile attack on the capital of Ukraine on November 23.
According to the patrol police, inspectors Andriy Butsenko, Volodymyr Shyshkov and Vitaly Bondarev were moving to their patrol square when a powerful explosion occurred a few tens of meters from them.
“We immediately rushed to the epicenter of the incident. There was a traffic jam on the roads, so we decided to walk faster. We arrived at the scene and began to provide home medical assistance to the victims,” the police said.
The patrolmen applied a tourniquet and handed over the injured man with a severe limb injury to military medics.
“In a moment, they were joined by additional police crews, ambulances and rescuers. Then they ensured the unhindered passage of emergency vehicles, guarded the scene and helped evacuate the victims,” the police added.
Enemy attack on Kyiv and the region on November 23
On November 23, the Russian occupiers launched a massive missile attack on the territory of Ukraine. As reported by the National Police, 10 people, including two children, became victims of Russian rocket fire. Another 52 people were injured.
In total, the occupiers fired about 70 rockets, about half of them were recorded in the Kyiv region.
Kyiv, Vyshhorod, Chabany, Glevakh, and Ukrainka were under attack in the Kyiv region. The local authorities informed about 35 victims, 31 of them in Vyshgorod. Seven people died.
During the shelling, significant damage was done to Kyiv’s energy systems. The city was left without electricity, problems with heat and water supply began. Only as of the morning of November 27, it was possible to almost completely restore electricity, water supply, heating and communications in the capital.
