The Polish goalkeeper is married to a Ukrainian woman from Vinnytsia.

Wojciech Szczesny, the goalkeeper of the national team of Poland and the Italian “Juventus”, expressed his support for Ukraine after the victory in the World Cup-2022 match against Saudi Arabia. The goalkeeper saved a penalty from a Saudi player in that game.

Shchensny told the “Suspilny” journalist the slogan “Glory to Ukraine”.

Let’s add that the Polish goalkeeper is married to a Ukrainian woman from Vinnytsia.

Wojciech is not the first to publicly support Ukraine. Back on February 26, the Pole made a very powerful statement regarding the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.

“My wife was born in Ukraine. My son has Ukrainian blood in his veins. Part of our family is still in Ukraine. Many of my employees are Ukrainians, they are all wonderful people. I see the suffering on their faces and fear for my country, I understand that I cannot pretend , as if nothing had happened,” the goalkeeper said then.

Now Wojciech is the best goalkeeper of the 2022 World Cup in terms of saves.
