The accident happened on the evening of November 26 in the area of the Latvian city of Ainaži, near the Estonian border, on the Via Baltica highway.
A road accident occurred in the territory of Latvia, as a result of which Ukrainian servicemen were injured.
According to the press service of the Estonian Defense Forces, a bus transporting people commissioned by the Estonian military department collided with a truck on the territory of Latvia. The bus was traveling from Poland to Estonia.
“As a result of the accident, one Estonian serviceman of the Defense Forces was injured and was taken to the hospital for examination. The rest of the passengers who were injured in the accident are servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who were also taken to the hospital,” the message reads.

As a result of the accident, the bus driver died, 26 other people were injured of various degrees, three of them are in serious condition.
It is not known exactly how many Ukrainian soldiers were injured, but according to Estonian media, most of the passengers were Ukrainians.
Several traffic accidents occurred on the same road on Saturday due to snow and ice.
Latvian aid to Ukraine
Latvia has supported Ukraine since the beginning of the war. The country not only provides weapons and financial aid, but also provides all kinds of political support in the international arena.

It also stopped issuing visas to Russians and recognized the Russian Federation as a sponsor of terrorism.
