The head of Serbia, Oleksandr Vucic, called on the parties to “find a solution” to end the war.
Serbian President Oleksandr Vucic commented on the war between Ukraine and Russia and said that “the conflict will not end soon.”
“I don’t understand what the experts are saying, everyone is using everything they can: Putin is using what he has, others are using what they have. I do not justify or criticize. When they thought that Ukraine was winning, the Russians have become better at fighting. It will be much longer, and I expect that the next winter will be harder than this one. The war will last a long time,” said the Serbian president in an interview with the Pink TV channel.
Vucic also stated that he is “not Russian, not Ukrainian, and not an American who is involved in all this” and called on the parties to “find a solution.”
The position of Serbia regarding the war against the Russian Federation
Serbia is one of the few EU countries that refused to impose sanctions against the Russian Federation due to its invasion of Ukraine.
The mass media wrote that the European Parliament may ask to suspend the negotiations on Serbia’s accession to the European Union because of this position.
The German government called on the President of Serbia, Oleksandr Vučić, to make a choice: join the EU or get closer to Russia.
Russia Today may be allowed to broadcast in Serbia: this channel regularly justifies aggression against Ukraine and calls for the genocide of Ukrainians.
