He assured that Germany continues to support Ukraine.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised to supply Ukraine with additional Gepard anti-aircraft tanks.
He made such a statement during a joint press conference with world financial and economic organizations, writes CNN. Also today, he had a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, during which the politicians discussed Russian airstrikes on civilian infrastructure, water and electricity supply.
Scholz condemned the ongoing shelling and assured Ukraine of further short-term aid.
“The President of Ukraine expressed his gratitude to Germany for its comprehensive support in monetary terms, as well as in terms of the supply of weapons, because the artillery and air defense systems we provide have a very significant impact on Ukraine’s ability to guarantee its integrity and sovereignty,” Scholz told reporters.
He noted that Germany continues to support Ukraine, including air defense and long-term reconstruction.
The chancellor also noted that the German proposal for its Patriot air defense system for Poland was not removed from the discussion.

The German anti-aircraft self-propelled artillery installation is designed to protect armored columns on the march and stationary objects from attacks from helicopters and airplanes at low and ultra-low altitudes, including in conditions of intensive radio-electronic countermeasures.
In mid-November, the German embassy in Ukraine reported that the country had already supplied the Ukrainian army with 30 such installations.
According to the official representative of the government, Steffen Hebestreit, Germany provided Ukraine with short-term financial assistance for the repair of the energy infrastructure of about 56 million euros. The country also supplies Ukraine with more than 350 generators.
