The French Football Federation believes that Antoine Griezmann’s goal was disallowed unfairly.
On Wednesday, November 30, a duel of the third round of the World Cup took place, in which the French national team sensationally lost to Tunisia.
The reigning world champions equalized in the game with the African team in the last seconds of the match, but already after the final whistle, referee Matthew Conger went to watch the video replay and after watching the episode with the goal taken, canceled the goal of the French.
The French Football Federation appealed to FIFA with a complaint about the disallowance of a goal scored by the striker of the national team, Antoine Griezmann.
“We are writing a complaint in connection with Antoine Griezmann’s goal, which, in our opinion, was erroneously disallowed. Such a complaint must be sent to FIFA within 24 hours after the end of the match,” – quotes the words of the representative of the French Football Federation to Le Parisien.
It is reported that the complaint is related to the time of use of the VAR system.
It is worth noting that this defeat did not affect the tournament position of the French national team, which retained the first place in Group D with 6 points and entered the playoffs of the World Cup.
In the 1/8 finals of the 2022 World Cup, France will play against the Polish national team.
We will remind, the national team of France is the current winner of the World Cup. In the final of the 2018 World Cup, the French beat Croatia.
