This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

For the first time in the history of Eurovision, Ukrainians will be able to choose a representative for the international song contest through a mobile application. Such an opportunity will appear in “Active”. This is how the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov commented:

“This year, we are actively digitizing the traditions of Eurovision. There are great results. In May, more than a million Ukrainians around the world watched Eurovision on Die. And already in October, half a million citizens chose the three judges of the National Selection in the application. We are moving forward. Every citizen will be able to as quickly as possible and comfortably support your favorite artist who will represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool.”

It should be noted that the final of the National Selection for Eurovision will take place on December 17 in Kyiv. For the safety of all participants and judges, it was decided to hold the event under cover.

“Despite Russia’s intentions to intimidate and destroy everything Ukrainian, we are actively developing and digitizing the cultural sphere. After all, culture is the foundation of a sustainable civil society,” Fedorov added.

Eurovision 2023: what is known

Despite the fact that the Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestra won this year, the competition will be hosted by Great Britain next year. This is due to the fact that on the territory of Ukraine there are not enough safe conditions for the participants and guests of the event.
