The Russian TV channel “Rain” fired the presenter Oleksiy Korostelev after his statement about helping to equip the Russian armed forces.

The head of the “Dozhdya” information service, Kateryna Kotrikadze, said on air that the channel opposes the war in Ukraine and considers mobilization in Russia to be a crime.

“Formulations that could raise doubts about our position are unacceptable on the air, so we made a decision with Oleksiy Korostelev from today. This is a very difficult decision for us. But the management of “Dozhdya” considers it the only correct and possible one. We apologize for the statement, on the air the day before,” Kotrikadze emphasized.
