In Gostomel, unknown people cut the graffiti of the British street artist Banksy from the wall.
Local residents wanted to keep the part of the wall with the picture behind the glass, Serhiy Zhuk reported on his Facebook page. The author depicted a woman in a gas mask standing with a fire extinguisher near a burnt-out apartment.
“Just before our eyes, vandals cut down the famous work of Banksy,” Zhuk wrote on December 2.
In the comments, the man emphasized that the vandals were detained. According to him, these were “young wealthy people”.
Banksy’s graffiti in Ukraine
Recently, a famous anonymous artist published on his Instagram a video taken during his secret visit to Ukraine in November.
It is known that the man created seven murals in Kyiv, Borodyanka and Irpen. The pictures appeared on the houses destroyed by the attack of the Russian Federation.
It was previously reported that before Banksy’s work in Kyiv, unknown people painted a Cossack with a condom. The picture appeared on Zhytomyrska Street.
As reported, Banksy’s anti-war painting “Vapk’u CND Soldiers, unsigned” was put up for auction in London in March. The funds received were to be transferred to the Okhmatdyt hospital, which treats children.
