In addition, during the prayers, the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Kyril was mentioned there.
The Security Service of Ukraine conducted an inspection of the UOC (Moscow Patriarchate) monastery in Transcarpathia. It turned out that there the nuns called for the “awakening of Mother Russia”.
The SBU press service reports that counter-intelligence (security) measures were carried out on the territory of the St. Cyril and Methodius Convent of the Mukachevo Diocese of the UOC (MP) in Transcarpathia. Law enforcement officers conducted counter-intelligence interviews, in particular with the use of a polygraph. More than 20 people completed this survey.
“Employees of the SBU found a large number of campaigning and propaganda materials. Most of the literature was authored by Russian figures and published by Russian printers. Among the items discovered by law enforcement officers were books of xenophobic content with offensive fictions about other nationalities and religions. The pamphlets found deny Ukraine’s right to Russia, Ukraine and Belarus “cannot be divided,” the press service reported.
In addition, the SBU said that in the monastery, during the prayers, the patriarch of the RPU, Kyril, was mentioned, although he “blessed” the Russian military to kill Ukrainians. The head of the diocese forbade mentioning this name, but no one listened to him. Not only that, a “memorial” was found in the monastery, which contained the so-called argumentation that the mention of Cyril could not be abandoned. Those who refused to glorify the patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church were intimidated by threats of “removal from the priesthood.”
“Also, during the events, the SBU found the texts of pro-Russian songs that glorified the “Russian land” and called for the “awakening of Mother Russia”. All materials will be handed over for appropriate expert research. The specified security measures were carried out within the framework of current legislation,” the SBU said . .
The Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine: searches and interesting “finds”
Recently, the priest showed how the Russian Federation is glorified in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The choir sang an openly pro-Russian song. Subsequently, the Abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavlo Lebid of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate, confirmed the authenticity of the video with a prayer for Russia in one of the churches of the Lavra. He noted that Father Zacharias, who performed a “secular song”, was suspended from conducting services.
On November 22, it became known that the Security Service of Ukraine had begun searches of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The law enforcement officers also conducted searches in the Koretsky Holy Trinity Monastery and in the premises of the UOC Sarnensko-Polyska Diocese in the Rivne Region. Pro-Russian literature and millions of cash were found in the churches. In the premises of the UOC MP in Bukovyna, they found methods from the Kremlin.
On November 25, the mass media reported that the SBU caught the secretary of the Chernivtsi Diocese of the UOC MP in bed with a boy from the local choir. On November 27, inspections took place in the Nativity Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in Ivano-Frankivsk.
On November 28, the SBU found propaganda materials denying the existence of Ukraine in the facilities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in Ternopil Oblast and Prykarpattia.
