Austin added that the fighting in Ukraine showed the world a tyrannical and deadly war that no one would want to experience.
The Secretary of Defense of the United States of America, Lloyd Austin, accused Russia of the fact that the aggressor is targeting the civilian population and infrastructure facilities of Ukraine with deliberate cruelty.
As he noted during his speech at the Reagan National Defense Forum in Sima Valley, the Russian Federation killed thousands of Ukrainians.
“Russia is putting the civilian population and civilian infrastructure under the crosshairs of its guns with deliberate cruelty. Russian troops have killed thousands of Ukrainian citizens. Russian attacks have resulted in the deaths of children, the destruction of schools and the destruction of hospitals,” Austin emphasized.
According to him, the countries bordering the Russian Federation look at such imperial aggression with increasing anxiety. Austin also added that the fighting in Ukraine showed the world a tyrannical and deadly war that no one would want to experience.
Russia’s war against Ukraine
Since February 24, 2022, Russia has fired thousands of missiles at Ukraine. In recent weeks, the Russian Federation has been destroying Ukraine’s energy system by shelling critical infrastructure facilities.
US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland explained that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s nuclear threats have not worked, and world leaders have made it clear that if nuclear weapons are used, the response will be severe. Because of this, the Russian Federation began to use another, at least unacceptable, military tactic – it switched to massive terrorist attacks on energy facilities.
According to intelligence, Russia is already using a strategic stockpile of some types of weapons, and for two months the Russian Federation exported 122 mm, 152 mm artillery ammunition from Belarus.
