The parties discussed the situation at the front and Ukraine’s needs for armaments.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhnyi, had a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, General Mark Milley.
As Zaluzhny reported on Facebook, they discussed, among other things, the situation at the front and Ukraine’s need for weapons.
“I thanked for the significant efforts that General Milli personally, Defense Minister Austin and President Biden are making to meet the needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the face of Russian full-scale aggression,” he said.
Also, according to Zaluzhnyi, he shared his assessment of the situation at the front and the security risks that Russia’s massive missile strikes are subject to.
“He detailed our requests for weapons and equipment, anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense systems. He assured that, despite the difficult conditions of conducting hostilities, we will continue the fight to victory,” added the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces.
The war in Ukraine: the role of the United States
On Saturday, December 3, the Secretary of Defense of the United States of America, Lloyd Austin, accused Russia of the fact that the aggressor is targeting the civilian population and infrastructure facilities of Ukraine with deliberate cruelty.
In addition, the United States of America and allies are working with countries in the Middle East to transfer several NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine.
Earlier it was also reported that the Administration of US President Joe Biden is considering the possibility of significantly expanding the training of Ukrainian defenders at the American base in Germany. It is about training 2,500 military personnel every month.
