The US State Department claims that the US “does not allow” and “does not encourage” the Ukrainian military to carry out strikes on the territory of Russia.

“We are providing Ukraine with everything it needs to be used on its sovereign territory, on Ukrainian soil, against Russian aggressors who have crossed its borders,” State Department official Ned Price said, according to the BBC.

This statement came after the Russian Federation accused Ukraine of striking its military infrastructure.

Price noted that the United States does not provide the Armed Forces with weapons that they could use outside their country.

“We have always made it clear that this is a defensive weapon,” he emphasized.

At the same time, according to the US State Department, strikes on two Russian military airbases were most likely organized by Ukraine.

As US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland emphasized, no one claimed responsibility for these drone strikes, but “the targets were those bombers that Russia uses to strike key infrastructure.”

“Ukrainians are extremely inventive,” stressed Nuland, who recently visited Kyiv. “They work a lot on their technologies and their equipment.”

At the same time, the representative of the State Department once again reminded that the American policy of refusing to provide Ukraine with weapons capable of striking deep into Russian territory remains unchanged.

Explosions at military facilities in the Russian Federation

On December 5, the Russian Federation reported an attack on the airfield in Diaghilev, Ryazan region. A fuel truck exploded there, three people died, and the plane was damaged.

On the same day, a drone probably attacked the air base in Engels, Saratov region. Two Tu-95 strategic bombers were allegedly damaged there, and two soldiers were wounded.

Both objects are located 700 km from the border with Ukraine.

On the night of December 6 in the Bryansk region, as Russian media reported, drones attacked the Slava plant, located 80 km from the border with Ukraine. They reportedly fell and exploded 10 feet (3 m) from the diesel fuel tanks.

And in Kursk on the same day there was a fire at the airfield. As a result of a drone attack, an oil storage tank caught fire near the Kursk airfield.
