Atroshenko turned to the president.
The Mayor of Chernihiv Vladyslav Atroshenko will appeal the decision of the Yavoriv District Court of the Lviv Region, which fined him 6.8 thousand hryvnias and deprived him of the right to hold the position of mayor for a year due to a real conflict of interests.
As he stated in his video address to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, published on his Facebook page, the court’s decision was made under “pressure from above.”
“Today, the will of almost 80% of Chernihiv residents was overruled by the decision of one person. Is there even one person in the country who will believe that the judge of the Yavoriv District Court of Lviv, without pressure from above, made a decision to remove the mayor of Chernihiv from the right to hold the position of mayor for one year?”, – noted Atroshenko.
He called the fact that the decision was made on the Day of Local Self-Government symbolic. According to him, local self-government has become another front, which while the soldiers are on the front lines, protects the families of Ukrainians at home and helps the Armed Forces.
“I’m staying, I’m not going anywhere. I will definitely file an appeal. I consider it a matter of honor,” Atroshenko emphasized.
As Chernihiv lawyer Oleksiy Kinebas commented to , the mayor has 10 days to file an appeal.
He also drew attention to the fact that the article of the Code of Administrative Offenses, according to which Atroshenko is deprived of the right to hold positions related to the performance of state or local self-government functions for a year, provides for such a sanction in case of a repeated violation.
Removal of Atroshenko: what is known
The Yavoriv Court of Lviv Oblast decided to deprive Chernihiv Mayor Vladyslav Atroshenko of the right to hold positions related to the functions of the state and local self-government for one year, and also fined him due to a real conflict of interests.
The basis for the NAZK protocol was Atroshenko’s order to his driver to take his wife’s Tesla Model X car abroad. NAZK believes that the official acted in the conditions of a conflict of interests, because the driver provides transportation services for the mayor exclusively within the scope of his official duties.
