Google summarized the search queries of users in 2022 and presented the most popular of them. Ukraine entered the top 5 requests in several categories at once.
As reported on the Google Trends website, Ukraine also topped the list of the most popular queries in the “News” category.
The peak search for news about Ukraine was observed in the period from February 20-26 to March 5, 2022. At the same time, requests about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine were most often introduced in English, French, and German.
It is noted that together with the word “Ukraine” users used such words as “losses”, “human sacrifices”, “donations”, “refugees”, “war”.
According to Google, “the death of Queen Elizabeth II” is in second place in the top of queries, and the phrase “election results in the USA” closes the top three. “Lottery numbers” and “monkey pox” were also among the top 5 searches.
At the same time, the most popular query on Google in 2022 was the Wordle game. In second place was the query “India against England”, in third place – Ukraine, in fourth place – Queen Elizabeth. The top five was closed by the query “India vs. USA”.
Popular queries of Ukrainians on Google in 2022
In 2022, Ukrainians were most often looking for an answer to the question, what is swift and palyanitsa, and were also interested in OPU adviser Oleksiy Arestovych and the death of Russian politician Volodymyr Zhirynovskyi.
With the beginning of the full-scale war and until now, the search query that showed the greatest growth was “Map of air alarms”, followed by “News of Ukraine” and “yeDopomoga”.
At the same time, Ukrainians were also interested in culture. Thus, in the “Movies” category in 2022, Ukrainians were most interested in the film from the Marvel universe “Spider-Man: No Way Home”.
