At the same time, he emphasized that the Armed Forces are now on the defensive.
Advisor to the Office of the President, Oleksiy Arestovych, spoke about the situation on the front line. According to him, the situation on the entire front line in Ukraine is in the phase of operational-tactical pressure of Russian troops.
As he noted in a conversation with Russian human rights defender Mark Feigin, the Russian occupiers intensified their efforts in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
“If we characterize the situation on the ground along the entire front line, now is the phase of such operational-tactical pressure of the Russian troops on the directions. That is, they intensified the efforts that they were already making in the area, for example, in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The Donetsk front is especially so. Well, and here is this activity on the Great Potemkin Island opposite Kherson. Once again striking my imagination with the “talent” of the Russian command, they are in the phase of trying to conduct offensive actions,” Arestovich explained.
At the same time, he noted that the Armed Forces are currently on the defensive.
“Accordingly, we do not advance anywhere, we defend ourselves, happily burning enemy infantry, equipment and everything else in those areas where they are trying to advance. It is clear that the soldiers on the spot are not very happy. In general, they press, and we fight back,” he emphasized Arestovych.
According to the adviser of the President’s Office, the Russian invaders have serious problems with ammunition in the direction of Bakhmut. He emphasized that under Bakhmut, the number of uses of Russian artillery is significantly reduced. Basically, “aircraft, tanks and tanks work as artillery” there.
“The main motto of what is happening is stupidity and courage. The Russian army is heroically running to the prepared (Ukrainian – ) defense. Well, in a sense, we thank it for this, because with each such raid it becomes less and less.” – summed up Arestovych.
Battles in Donetsk region: what is known
Andrii Illenko, an officer of the “Svoboda” battalion of NSU, said that Russia threw all combat-capable units of its army into the Bakhmut direction. He added that the occupiers are suffering significant losses at the front.
At the same time, military expert Oleg Zhdanov believes that the battle in Donbas will be the last for the Russian army. The Russian Federation has pulled all its forces there and now cannot divert them to other directions.
In addition, the battles for Avdiivka are not abating. The mayor of the city, Vitaly Barabash, emphasized that the Russian invaders cannot pass the industrial zone, as the Ukrainian military has been building fortifications there for the past 8 years.
