The situation in Bakhmut
As reported, fighting around Bakhmut between the Defense Forces of Ukraine and Russian troops has been going on since August.
According to the information of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, enemy troops continue to attempt offensive actions in the Bakhmut and Avdiiv directions.
On December 9, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, speaking about the situation at the front, noted that the situation remains very difficult in the key areas of Donbas – Bakhmut, Soledar, Maryinka, Kreminna.
“There is no living place left on the land of these areas that has not been damaged by shells and fire for a long time. The occupiers actually destroyed Bakhmut – another Donbas city, which the Russian army turned into burnt ruins,” the head of state said.
