Soldiers are warned of “criminal responsibility” for leaving their duty stations and permanent deployment points.
The Russian occupiers in Luhansk region are sending out threatening text messages to prevent desertion from the ranks of their troops.
“In order to counteract the numerous cases of desertion in the units of the Russian occupation forces in the territories of the Luhansk region, SMS messages are being sent to subscribers of the Luhacom mobile phone service with a warning of criminal liability for leaving the places of service and the points of permanent deployment of military units,” – says the messages on the Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding operational information as of 6:00 p.m.
Deserters in the Russian army
On December 1, the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Brigadier General Oleksiy Gromov, reported that up to 50 deserting Russian servicemen are detained in Luhansk Oblast every day.
The Russian occupiers in Donbas destroyed their deserters, most of whom were “convicts”. On November 30, the fact of the desertion of servicemen of the Russian occupation forces with weapons from their combat positions was discovered in Donetsk region. Out of 21 deserters, 13 are persons recruited from prisons.
