Petro Chernyk reminded that Ukraine has strengthened its borders quite well.

The Russian Federation threatens Ukraine with an offensive from Belarus. Belarusian troops, most likely, will not be able to pass the defensive lines.

“The sudden inspection of the combat capability of the army of Belarus shows that Russia is raising the stakes, I emphasize that it is Russia, not Belarus. There is no such subject state as Belarus. Lukashenko is illegitimate and illegal, both from the point of view of his own people and in the wider international context. And Putin really needs Belarus to officially enter the land part of the war with Ukraine, because let me remind you: heavy missile strikes do take place from the side of Belarus. That is, in fact, they are already at war with us,” the military expert said Petro Chernyk on the air of the telethon.

He noted that Russia intimidates Ukrainians with threats from Belarus, but if Oleksandr Lukashenko crosses this “black line”, his troops will not be happy.

“The Ukrainian Mannerheim Line has been repeatedly strengthened and built. It will be incredibly expensive for the enemy to pass these defensive lines. I am sure that they will not pass it, even if they dare. Will any forces and means be diverted without fail? Will it hurt? It will hurt, but the course of the war will not change in any way,” the expert noted.

According to him, at least a 50,000-strong corps is needed to turn the tide of the war, but it is not there.

“Madness on the part of Lukashenka can happen. Well, if it happens, welcome to hell,” Chernyk concluded.

“Sudden inspection of the army” in Belarus – what is known

On December 13, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus announced an inspection of the combat capability of the troops by order of Oleksandr Lukashenko. The Belarusian military should organize security and defense, as well as establish bridge crossings over the Neman and Berezina rivers, which are far from the border of Ukraine and Belarus.

According to the commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhii Nayev, he discussed the situation on the border with Belarus with his colleague from the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Tomasz Piotrowski.

In turn, the Secretary of the National Security Council, Oleksiy Danilov, noted that Ukraine knew in advance that the Belarusian troops would undergo a military fitness test. At the same time, he assured that the Armed Forces are ready for any options for the development of events in this direction, and if someone “intrudes” on the territory of our state, then “you will not envy him”.
