The updated version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt did not disappoint, if the first reviews of Western critics are to be believed. Today, December 13, the ban on reviews of the game fell, and individual publications shared their opinion.
On Metacritic (PS5 version), The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition has a score of 97 based on 12 reviews. As for PC and Xbox Series, there aren’t enough reviews on those platforms yet for a weighted average to appear.
Journalists call the update “The Witcher 3” exemplary and recommend playing the game again. And if someone has not yet had time to try it, now is the best time. Critics noted the visual improvements, usability changes, and new content. And the owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt got all this for free. TheSixthAxis (10 out of 10): “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition is as essential now as it was seven years ago. If you want to play the game for the first time, or have been waiting for this free update (and bonus quest) before returning to it, now is the time to start. This is a masterpiece that still stands at the top of its genre.”
Push Square (9 out of 10): “Seven years after its release, The Witcher 3 is still a masterpiece. It’s character development and dialogue are unsurpassed, and its ability to tell so many compelling stories is still impressive. Although some aspects of the gameplay are not as well preserved, there is no doubt that the Complete Edition is the best version of a truly outstanding open-world adventure.”
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt update: basic information
- Most of the improvements in the nextgen patch will affect graphics and general usability. CDPR will add switching between “Productivity” and “Quality” modes, allow changing the camera, implement ray tracing, create a photo mode, and more.
- As for the new content, it will be dedicated to the series “The Witcher” from Netflix. You can definitely expect armor for Geralt of Rivia and tasks.
- The updated version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released on December 15 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and Series S. All owners of the game will receive it for free.
