We are talking about Windows 10 (21H1), which is also known as Windows 10 May 2021 Update.
Microsoft has stopped supporting the second most popular version of Windows in the world. We are talking about Windows 10 (21H1), which is also known as Windows 10 May 2021 Update.
According to the portal SoftPedia, at the beginning of the week, the developers released the last patch for Windows 10 21H1, and now this version of the operating system will no longer receive regular updates, including security patches.
Support is discontinued for all editions of Windows 10 21H1:
Their users are advised to “move” to a more up-to-date version of the OS in order to avoid possible hacker attacks that may use unpatched vulnerabilities.
So that users do not put their devices at risk, the “Windows Update Center” will automatically launch the update to the current Windows 10 version 22H2 or immediately to Windows 11. At the same time, users can independently set any convenient time for this.
By the way, Windows 10 21H1, as before, remains one of the most popular versions of the Microsoft OS. According to the AdDuplex agency, as of mid-2022, it is used by about 24% of Microsoft OS users. More only in Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 11.
Microsoft also reminded about the quick end of support for Windows 8.1
The “death” of the operating system is scheduled for January 10, 2023 – users using this OS will no longer receive any updates, including security patches.
Among other things, ending support for W8.1 also risks users losing the functionality of Microsoft 365 (Office) and the Microsoft Store.
