It’s not rush hour yet, so it’s only to be expected that taxi prices will reach new heights.
After Russia’s massive missile attack, energy facilities were hit in several regions of Ukraine, and emergency power outages were introduced. For the residents of Kyiv, the fact that the subway stopped today was a real blow. The capital subway will not run until the end of the day.
Taxi drivers immediately took advantage of the fact that the metro is not working in Kyiv – the prices for their services skyrocketed. The cost of the trip is increased by 2-3 times. And now is not the rush hour. That is, in the evening, people who were supposed to go home by subway will have to pay a considerable amount if they dare to use the services of a taxi.
So, for example, a trip from the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital to Podilskyi cost up to UAH 100 on average, even in the evening hours. Now it reaches UAH 300 in the Bolt taxi service and UAH 150 in Uber.
But getting from the right bank of Kyiv to the left bank is another pleasure. You will have to shell out more than UAH 500 if you call Bolt, and shell out more than UAH 300 for an Uber ride.
