In particular, the Russian Federation has no guarantees that the army of Belarus will not rebel.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is going to Belarus to see Alexander Lukashenko to force him to cut off all contacts with the West. The best way to make him do this is to go to war against Ukraine.
As Oleksiy Arestovych, adviser to the President’s Office, said on the air with Mark Feygin, Lukashenko will maneuver by all means to avoid involving Belarus in this war. According to Arestovych, the Kremlin can, of course, physically remove Lukashenka, but there is a nuance.
“They can, of course, kill him. And where is the guarantee that immediately after that a popular uprising will not start in Belarus, which, to put it mildly, will make it difficult to use the Belarusian armed forces in a foreign war? And where is the guarantee that, realizing that he was killed by the Russians, will the Belarusian army rebel against the Russians?” – said Arestovych.
According to him, strange interpretations of the possible death of Lukashenka immediately after the mysterious death of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Volodymyr Makei will arouse suspicion. In addition, Arestovych believes that it is not so easy to kill the head of state, who is entrusted with the special services and security forces.
The VP adviser noted that Putin is going to Lukashenka to discuss bilateral cooperation. Perhaps both dictators will talk about Belarus entering the war, but Lukashenka Arestovich does not believe in the serious format of these negotiations and agreements.
Putin understands that Lukashenko does not want to fight, so he will ask for the transfer of military equipment. Although the Russian Federation has withdrawn about 150,000 “mobikes” to Belarus, they do not have military equipment. Arestovych believes that this topic will become central during the negotiations.
How Putin pushes Lukashenka to war against Ukraine
Since the beginning of the war, Belarus has been loyal to the occupiers and from the first days allowed strikes on Ukraine from its territory. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces believes that the authorities of Belarus may be preparing for war with Ukraine.
The GUR added that as of December 17, Belarus is not ready to fully participate in a ground operation against our country.
On December 19, a new meeting between Vladimir Putin and Lukashenka is scheduled to take place in Minsk. The VP believes that during his visit to Belarus, the Russian president will push his crony to attack.
