Trial for Russian war criminals
During the full-scale war in Ukraine, the Russian military systematically committed war crimes. Confirmation of this (torture, evidence of mass atrocities and deportations) is found in all de-occupied territories of Ukraine. Reports of international organizations also confirm the atrocities of the occupiers. Amnesty International has accused Russia of a crime against humanity and has declared the forced displacement, deportation and filtering of civilians in the occupied territories of Ukraine. And the UN named Russia responsible for the vast majority of war crimes committed in the first weeks of the full-scale war.
Ukraine is working in cooperation with foreign partners to create a special international tribunal to bring Russians to justice. At the beginning of December, the National Assembly of France – the lower house of the parliament – adopted a “very powerful” resolution in support of Ukraine and approved the creation of a special tribunal for the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and his closest circle for war crimes in Ukraine.
