The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, held a staged meeting with Russian generals with the aim of removing personal responsibility for failures in the war against Ukraine.

As reported on Twitter by the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain with reference to intelligence data, Putin visited the joint headquarters of the so-called “special military operation” and met with high-ranking military officers, including Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov and Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu.

“He asked for suggestions on the next steps of the special military operation. The commander of the Russian troop group in Ukraine, General Sergey Surovikin, was one of those who presented the report. In this staged meeting, Putin probably intended to demonstrate collective responsibility for the special military operation,” – the message says. in the message.

“This display was probably intended to remove from Putin the responsibility for the military failure, the high mortality rate and the increase in public dissatisfaction with the mobilization,” the message states.

In addition, the intelligence agency noted that the television video recording was allegedly intended to dispel rumors from social networks about the removal of Gerasimov from his post.

Putin’s meeting with the generals: what is known

On December 16, Vladimir Putin visited the headquarters of the occupying army fighting in Ukraine. He also held personal meetings with commanders of enemy troops and listened to reports on the course of hostilities.

The press service published a video of the visit. The footage of the video shows that Putin met with Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu, Commander of the occupying forces in Ukraine Serhiy Surovikin, and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov.

The location of the headquarters is not disclosed. There are also no details of Putin’s personal conversations with members of the command.
