Since the beginning of the month, Ukrainians have imported 1,310 Starlink sets, 98% of them entered on preferential terms with zero VAT/duty (1,278 units). And this, despite a significant increase in the price of both the equipment and the subscription fee — the price of the kit increased from $600 to $700, and the cost of the monthly subscription fee from $60 to $75.

The most common method of import is express delivery. Thus, 1057 sets were delivered. Another 231 were brought in through checkpoints. Also, 22 sets of Starlink arrived in Ukraine by mail.

As for generators, as of December 19, 235.9 thousand generators of various types were imported into Ukraine on preferential terms (with the application of zero VAT/duty). Of them, 92% (217.3 thousand) brought legal entities, and the remaining 8% (18.6 thousand) — individuals. In total, 510.3 thousand generators entered Ukraine in 2022.

Since the beginning of November, favorable conditions for customs clearance (with the application of zero VAT/duty) of certain critical categories of goods have been in effect in Ukraine, introduced by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 1260 of November 9 — initially generators and batteries were exempted from payment of import duty and VAT, and on November 29 the benefits were extended to Starlink , water purification products and spare parts for electric generators. Last week, the council abolished import taxes on Starlink generators and terminals, and allowed up to 2 tonnes of fuel to be stored without a licence. It is expected that enshrining these favorable conditions at the level of the law will help to avoid problems at customs and fines.
