The Ministry of Digitization is launching a free online crypto-literacy course for Ukrainians

The Ministry of Digitization announced the release of the next educational series on the “Action. Digital Education” platform – “Virtual Assets”. This is a basic crypto-literacy course designed to teach Ukrainians to use crypto-assets correctly.

This is not the first such online course on blockchain and cryptocurrencies — a similar educational series was released on the Action.Digital Education platform at the end of 2020.

The program of the new course was developed by experts of the “Virtual Assets 2030” foresight. It provides training in the format of a simulator:

  • 100 hours of theory and practice;
  • work on real cases on existing platforms;
  • two formats: independent study and as an elective in higher education.

For several years, the Ministry of Digitization team has been actively working on the launch of the virtual assets market. Our goal is to teach Ukrainians to use crypto-assets competently.”

Working on real cases in different ecosystems, you will learn what a crypt is and how to use it. And the most important thing is what opportunities it opens up for business and people.”

according to the official description of the course by the Ministry of Digital

Pre-registration for the course is currently underway – those interested can fill out the online form at this link. The course itself should appear on the “Action. Digital Education” platform already in February. It is implemented in collaboration with the largest European crypto exchange from Ukraine WhiteBIT, Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web, as well as Atlantis.world.

In March, President Zelenskyi signed the Decree “On Virtual Assets”, which gives the “green light” to the launch of a legal virtual asset market in Ukraine and the removal of transactions with cryptocurrencies from the shadows. The Ministry of Statistics, together with the Securities and Stock Market Commission, is continuing work on a draft law on amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine, which will regulate the issue of taxation of operations with virtual assets. Its adoption is a mandatory condition for the full launch of the virtual assets market. It was originally planned to be adopted by the end of 2022, but due to the war, the process is likely to be delayed.

  • Ukraine took the 3rd line out of 146 in the ranking of the global index of the use of cryptoassets in 2022.
  • In 2020, Ukrainian civil servants declared 46,351 Bitcoin coins, and the state entered the top 10 countries with the largest bitcoin earnings and the top 5 ranking of the global index of use of cryptoassets.
