Ukrainian diplomats do not stop working on Ukraine’s acquisition of new types of weapons.
Work on obtaining American tanks and aircraft is underway, and the training of the Ukrainian military in the operation of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems will be as fast as possible.
According to the correspondent of , Ukrainian Ambassador to the USA Oksana Markarova, who came to Kyiv to participate in the annual conference of Ukrainian ambassadors, told journalists about this.
In particular, she was asked when there will be developments regarding the transfer of American Abrams tanks and aircraft to Ukraine. Most likely, we are talking about F-15 and F-16 fighters, which Ukraine requested.
“I will not comment on specific names, because the question is not in the names. We are working with all our partners, and here I think it is better to ask the Ministry of Defense, including, but such a capability as tanks, aircraft, any armored vehicle, – this is one of the priority positions we are working on,” Markarova said.
Separately, the ambassador said that the Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex, which the USA will transfer to Ukraine, is a super-penetrating weapon.
“This is one of the best types of weapons in the anti-aircraft category,” said Markarova.
She noted that after February 24, constant work continues, and Ukraine receives an increasing number of types of various weapons.
According to her, the acquisition of the Patriot air defense system is another victory for Ukraine, but Ukraine needs even more, and diplomats do not stop in their work.
The ambassador also said that the training of the Ukrainian military in the operation of the Patriot air defense system will begin much sooner and their deadlines will be shortened as much as possible. In particular, the training “will be conducted in the most effective way, so that it happens quickly.”

At the same time, Biden announced the allocation of $1.85 billion in new defense aid to Ukraine, which, in particular, will include Patriot complexes and shells for them.
The US president stated that it will take some time to prepare the Ukrainian military for the use of the Patriot air defense system.
At the same time, a senior official of the US Department of Defense said that the Ukrainian military would need “several months” to learn how to operate the Patriot air defense system.
Zelenskyi said that Ukraine and the United States have reached strategic agreements to strengthen the Defense Forces in key areas.
