The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure of the Dnipro City Council reported that the total number of lamps in operation will not exceed 30%. Scheduled mode of operation of street lighting – until 21:00, bridges – until 00:00.
It is noted that the inclusion of outdoor lighting will contribute to the reduction of robberies, traffic accidents, damage to property, etc. The city council also added that the further work of outdoor lighting will depend on the situation in the energy system of Ukraine.
The situation with electricity in Dnipro and the region
As reported, on December 16, the Russian invaders fired 70 cruise missiles and 4 guided air missiles over Ukraine, 60 of which were shot down by air defense forces. As a result of the strikes, several objects of energy infrastructure in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions were hit. Dnipropetrovsk region was completely cut off.
On December 21, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, Valentin Reznichenko, announced that the region is returning to blackout schedules. Energy experts managed to more or less stabilize the system, he emphasized. In particular, all critical infrastructure of the region was requested. Water pipes and boiler rooms are connected.
