The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine announced a new large-scale initiative, thanks to which 12 schools will receive 5,000 Apple iPad tablets.
This initiative is primarily aimed at supporting students whose schools were destroyed due to Russian aggression. Judging by the text of the official statement, these iPads will help restore the education process using distance learning technologies.
“Hundreds of schools were damaged or destroyed due to Russian shelling. Children cannot study in the usual format. Tablets will help schoolchildren acquire new knowledge. And also increase their digital literacy”
according to the statement of the Ministry of Digital
Equipment has already begun to be handed over to schools – on Friday (12/23), 451 schoolchildren in the Buchan district of the Kyiv region already received devices with a set of educational programs.
It is also emphasized that Ukrainian teachers have received training from certified Apple trainers, which will help integrate new equipment into the educational process.

Unfortunately, there are not many details about this project – neither the exact models nor the exact way in which the equipment was obtained – how charitable assistance or the purchase was paid for from the state budget. The second option is less likely, but there is no official confirmation yet. The Ministry of Digitization emphasizes that the implementation of this initiative will be facilitated by partners – the official distributor of ASBIS, the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Education, Science and Innovation, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the NGO “7Fields”.
It can be recalled that last year, as part of the “A laptop for every teacher” initiative, the Ministry of Digital Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Culture purchased 61,628 computers for Ukrainian teachers – then it was reported that the departments managed to save more than UAH 100 million. In addition, as part of one of its charity initiatives, Google donated 50,000 Chromebooks to Ukrainian teachers.
