The Russian army is trying to squeeze out at least some progress in Donbas, the president noted.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that the situation in Donbas now requires maximum strength and concentration, is difficult and painful.
The head of state said this in his video message at the end of the 306th day of the war. “Bakhmut, Kreminna and other areas in Donbas, which now require maximum strength and concentration. The situation there is difficult, painful. The occupiers are spending all the resources available to them – and these are significant resources – to squeeze out at least some progress,” the president noted.
He expressed his gratitude to all Ukrainian defenders who are standing there. “To stand firm. And who still find opportunities not only to not lose anything, but also to knock out the occupiers, to “minus” them,” Zelenskyi noted.
Today, the head of state emphasized the 10th separate mining and assault brigade for capturing the occupiers in Donbas.
“This is very important. It will allow us to free more Ukrainians,” the president emphasized.
Zelensky also praised the 80th and 95th separate amphibious assault brigades for the successful destruction of the enemy force in the Lyman direction.
Fighting in Donetsk region
As you know, Russian troops have been trying to occupy Bakhmut for a long time. Ukrainian defenders hold the defense of the city and repel enemy attacks.
According to Colonel Serhiy Cherevaty, the representative of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the invaders suffered heavy losses in manpower and equipment in the direction of Bakhmut.
Earlier it was reported that a Russian colonel committed suicide in Soledar due to threats.
According to Kyril Budanov, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, the strategy of the Russian Federation in Donbas is partially dictated by the private military company “Wagner”.
