ARX ​​insurance company celebrates 28 years in the Ukrainian market.  This is how she survives the war

For 10 months, Ukraine chooses the right to remain an independent country. In all segments, Ukrainian business is afloat thanks to the highest professionalism and incredible motivation of its representatives.

In the insurance market of Ukraine, despite military difficulties, the ARX company maintains a certain primacy. According to the NBU, ARX is the leader in collected net insurance premiums in January – September 2022, which amounted to UAH 2.228 billion. ARX ​​also ranks second in terms of insurance payments – 775.7 million hryvnias. Every day, the company pays out more than UAH 5 million to clients.

About the history of the company

The name ARX appeared on the market in 2019. But it is relatively new only at first glance – behind it is a 28-year history of the company, which began its activities back in 1994 under the name “Vesco”. In 2007, an international insurance giant – the French group AXA – entered the Ukrainian market. She bought domestic insurance companies “Vesco” and “Ukrainian Insurance Alliance”. They merged into one, which began to work under the AXA brand.

“AXA insurance” worked for 11 years, and during this time it became one of the largest players on the market. In 2019, the AXA group at the global level made a strategic decision to leave the Ukrainian market. Then a new investor appeared in our company – Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited with headquarters in Toronto, Canada, which has been engaged in insurance, reinsurance and investment management since 1985. The holding works in 40 countries.

In the same 2019, we carried out a large-scale rebranding: we changed the corporate style and name. The chosen collegiate name ARX in Latin means “fortress”, “stronghold”.

About work during the war

Since the full-scale invasion, this “fortress” has completely proven its resilience. Many insurers have disappeared from the Ukrainian market for various reasons, ARX has been working since the first day of the war: serving clients, providing all insurance services and making payments.

A big role was played by online services, which were consistently developed for several years. As a result, many insurance services can be ordered and paid online from anywhere in the world. And even from the shelter, provided that there is Internet.

The most significant segment in the company’s portfolio is casco auto insurance. The company has been a leader in this segment for 13 years. The amount of premiums from insurance was UAH 1.03 billion. The company serves clients both in Ukraine and abroad, which helps our compatriots who are outside the country. We have organized communication with customers online – in chats, messengers or through the program. We can also directly pay service stations abroad.

From March to September, the company settled more than 10,000 insurance cases related to motor vehicle insurance. About 1.3 thousand of them happened to ARX clients who were forced to leave Ukraine.

Our clients are satisfied with the Casco product loss settlement service. All inclusive”: according to their reviews (Transparent Customer Feedback), available online on the company’s website, the customer satisfaction rate has reached 98%. This is the highest result in the history of the company.

About new products

The company not only kept all services, but also offers new ones. In June 2022, we launched the “Green Card” – a compulsory international car insurance policy. In addition to it, the company introduced a unique “Autoconcierge” service. Thanks to it, clients abroad can receive information and technical assistance 24/7 in their native language.

In addition, we introduced a new product to the market – “Armor Protection”. This is an insurance program that allows you to insure against accidents, and not only from domestic ones, such as injuries, burns, frostbite, but also from accidents resulting from military actions – hitting shells, mines, bullets, collapsing buildings, etc. The program operates all over the world and in those areas of Ukraine where military operations are not conducted. This policy can be purchased online from anywhere in the world.

All contracts of clients, as well as their relatives, insured by the company, are available in the application MyARX. They can be viewed even without Internet access. You can also conclude new contracts – as soon as Internet access is restored, the program will automatically transfer data to the company. In addition, it is convenient to communicate with the company in the application – there is no need to launch other messengers.

And recently, we added a new feature to MyARX – now customers can take a photo of the car’s condition and send the data to the company to receive an insurance claim.

About social responsibility and birthday

ARX ​​was and remains a socially responsible company. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we have transferred more than UAH 23 million to help the Armed Forces. In addition, for 11 months of 2022, we paid more than UAH 366 million in taxes to the state budget.
