Dmytro Peskov asks to “take into account Russian realities” during possible negotiations.
The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmytro Peskov, said that Moscow can sign a peace treaty with Ukraine, but as part of these agreements, Kyiv should recognize the lost territories as Russian.
“So far, there is no “peace plan” of Ukraine, let’s start with this. Again: there cannot be any “peace plan” of Ukraine that does not take into account today’s realities on Russian territory, with the incorporation of new regions into Russia – four (Donetsk , Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions in addition to the annexed Crimea – ),” Putin’s press secretary told RBC.
Peskov added that no plan that does not take into account these “realities” created by Russia can claim to be approved.
We will remind you that earlier the Kremlin issued an ultimatum to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi. Peskov was also ashamed, commenting on Zelensky’s visit to Kherson.
Russia asks for negotiations with Ukraine: what you need to know
The occupying army is exhausted, and therefore the Kremlin is desperately looking for ways to bring Kyiv to the negotiating table.
At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry is confused in its statements: Sergey Lavrov says that Russia allegedly did not ask for negotiations, although his colleague Maria Zakharova stated the opposite.
