Another 400 filters were transferred to the liberated regions. With their help, the Ukrainian military and residents of the de-occupied territories will provide themselves with drinking water. The purchase price is UAH 900,000.
A thousand filters of the American company Sawyer were distributed among the divisions of several brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the SZH, reports on the website of the Techia Foundation NGO. With their help, the military will be able to turn water from natural reservoirs, melted snow or rain water into potable water.
The filter traps particles as small as 0.1 microns and, according to the manufacturer, can filter more than 300,000 liters of water thanks to its backwash system. At the same time, the filter weighs only 57 grams, so the military will always be able to take it with them. And a significant resource will cover the needs of the unit.
“Drinking water is one of the greatest humanitarian needs on the front lines, because it is rare to carry water supplies with you. Especially for scouts who may work behind enemy lines. These compact filters will help you get drinking water anywhere, quench your thirst and minimize the threat to health. They have proven themselves in conditions of extreme tourism and after natural disasters, so they should become useful in conditions of war,” explains Oleg Krot, managing partner of the TECHIIA holding and director of the Techia Foundation.
Another 400 filtration systems of the same manufacturer have already been transferred to the de-occupied regions, where water channels have been destroyed or significantly damaged. With their help, local residents can purify water until utility systems are up and running.
It will be recalled that earlier “Techia Foundation” handed over 30 cars, 7 drones and 800 life jackets to units of the Armed Forces. In total, the amount of aid to the Defense Forces of Ukraine from the “Techia Foundation” exceeded $21.5 million. In addition, the managing partner of the TECHIIA holding, Oleg Krot, purchased almost $40 million worth of necessary items for the defenders of Ukraine. For reasons of security and military secrecy, the details of these purchases are not disclosed.
